The Role - Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work under the direction of teaching staff to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, achieve their potential, and grow in confidence.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils, including those with additional needs, to engage fully in learning.
- Assist with the delivery of learning activities and individual education/behaviour plans.
- Promote independence, resilience, and self-esteem in pupils.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and contribute to their assessment.
- Support the teacher with classroom management, displays, and resources.
- Work with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the best support.
This role will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, while developing your own professional skills and experience.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent experience).
- Experienced in working with children of secondary school age.
- Skilled in literacy, numeracy, and ICT.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Passionate about inclusion and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
Experience of working with pupils with additional needs, knowledge of the national curriculum, and familiarity with child development and safeguarding are desirable.
