Teaching Assistant job summary

At Holme Hall Primary School, we strive to provide the best education for all our pupils in a caring and supportive environment, and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy team. Previous experience of working in a school, knowledge of SEND and experience of supporting the delivery of phonics would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will:

Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing positively to the wider school community.

Demonstrate a secure understanding of the National Curriculum and have a good working knowledge of phonics.

Support the class teacher in the planning, preparation and delivery of high quality learning experiences.

Promote and safeguard childrenʼs physical, social and emotional wellbeing, responding sensitively to individual needs.

Bring creativity and innovation to learning activities, problem solving and pupil engagement.

Maintain high expectations for both achievement and behaviour, modelling positive attitudes and conduct.

Uphold and actively promote the schoolʼs values, ethos and inclusive culture.

Champion the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring that children with specific or additional needs are fully supported and able to participate in all aspects of school life.

Show strong motivation and passion for helping children thrive, making a genuine difference to their learning and development.

Use initiative to assess, monitor and evaluate pupilsʼ needs, adapting support strategies where necessary.
