Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to work alongside our dedicated team of staff to inspire and drive our children’s learning.
A Teaching Assistant position is available from September 2026 for 19.98 hours per week, term time only based at Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School. The position is temporary until the end of August 2027 and will be reviewed at this point based on the needs of the school with a view to extension.
We inspire learning by providing a broad, rich and imaginative curriculum which allows children the freedom to develop their own creativity. There is a strong Christian ethos and solid links exist between the schools, Church and the community.

Job TitleTeaching Assistant - Support (Primary)
JOB PURPOSE:
To support the teaching staff and teaching assistants in the development and education of pupils in accordance with the aims and policies of the school.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist teaching staff in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes and undertake predetermined activities with pupils so thattheir intellectual and social development(including self-reliance and self-esteem) is fostered.
2Provide input into the planning and evaluation of learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils to enable the teaching staff to makeinformed decisions when developing their plans.

Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of pupils bothin and out of the classroom (including educational visits) to ensure their safety and facilitate their physicaland emotional development in accordance with the school's behaviour management policy.

Monitor individual pupil’s progress, achievementsand development and report these to the teaching staff/line manager to inform decisions taken regarding the Individual Education Plan, Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes for a pupil.

Liaise with parents and carers in conjunction with the teaching staff to ensure effective communication concerning the pupils' wellbeing.

Record pupil information, as specified by the teaching staff/line manager to ensure the schools information systems are maintained.

Attend to the personal, social and physical needs of pupils so that their wellbeing is maintained.

Prepare and maintain learning equipment and ensure that the classroom is kept clean and tidy.

Display and present the pupils' work, under the direction of teaching staff, so that it enhances the classroom environment and celebrates achievement.

Attend staff and other meetings and participate in staff training development work and staff reviews as required.
All staff have a requirement to follow the schools Child Protection and Safeguarding Procedure.
