At Kingfisher Primary Academy, we are looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our FS1 team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the learning, development and care of children within FS1
  • Provide high-quality provision in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote exploration and curiosity
  • Observe children’s learning, contribute to assessments and support planning of next steps
  • Support children’s personal care needs, including feeding, changing and toileting
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
  • Work closely with colleagues to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment
  • Support children with SEND and additional needs through inclusive practice
  • Ensure all safeguarding, welfare and health & safety requirements are met
What We’re Looking For
  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification (DfE-approved for EYFS ratios) or equivalent, such as:
    • CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce
    • BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning & Development
    • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education
    • Paediatric First Aid Certificate (If your Paediatric First Aid certificate has expired, you will be required to complete the relevant training as part of your role.)
    • Experience of working with children in a nursery or Early Years setting
    • Hands-on experience supporting personal care needs
    • Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and statutory requirements
    • Knowledge of observation, assessment and planning within Early Years
    • Understanding of how children learn through play, exploration and active learning
    • Confidence supporting behaviour, emotional development and social skills
    • Knowledge of inclusive practice and supporting children with SEND
    • A good understanding of safeguarding, including Keeping Children Safe in Education

Kingfisher is a fantastic academy that places great importance on the success of its pupils. Children are assessed regularly and effective support ensures children make progress. An innovative curriculum has been designed to ensure that children take part in exciting lessons and that they play an active part in their own learning. A number of extra curricular clubs ensure that children have access to a range of enriching activities.

As an academy we love working with parents and have an increasing army of volunteer helpers who support us during the school day. We value the opinions of children in school and they have their own council. The council has regular meetings and discuss a wide range of issues.

Kingfisher is a two form entry academy (420 places) with a 52 place nursery.
