What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a skilled, committed and experienced colleague to join our Early Years team as a Teaching Assistant (equivalent to a Nursery Nurse or Early Years Practitioner in PVI settings). We are a welcoming, inclusive school community with an excellent reputation for pupil wellbeing and staff professional growth. The contracted hours are 22 hours 30 minutes per week: • 9:00am-12:00pm on Mondays and Fridays; • 9:00am-3:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (with an hour's lunch break). Additional hours may be available according to the needs of the school, including (but not limited to) as part of our Nursery Wrap Around Care provision (8:00-9:00am and 3:30-6:00pm, Monday-Friday).
The successful applicant is likely to be working in Nursery, but a final decision will be made based on their skills and experience. The successful applicant will:
- Have a positive impact on the attainment and progress of pupils;
- Undertake a range of specialised tasks to support the learning and development of pupils;
- Promote pupil independence and positive behaviours for learning through a ‘least help first’ approach;
- Have an appropriate level of expertise, qualifications and/or experience, including in English and maths, and a full and relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant/Early Years Practitioner qualification.
