Teaching Assistant (Early Years Specialist) job summary
We are looking for a caring, and enthusiastic Early Years Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. If you believe in play based learning, understand the importance of high-quality interactions, and are committed to supporting every child’s next steps, then we’d love to hear from you. Hours of work are Monday - Friday 8.30am -1.15pm term time only.
Eaton Bray Academy caters for children between 2 and 11 with capacity for 30 children per year. We are located within the village of Eaton Bray, near to Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard within Central Bedfordshire. We are also within easy reach of Milton Keynes and Aylesbury, as we sit close to the Buckinghamshire border.
Person SpecificationEssential:Qualifications
A relevant Level 2 Early Years qualification
A Passion for Play and Child Development
You understand the importance of play in early learning and are committed to supporting every child’s next steps with care, creativity, and curiosity.
Warm, Caring and Nurturing Nature
You naturally build strong, trusting relationships with young children, helping them feel safe and confident to explore the world around them.
Team Player
You bring positivity, flexibility, and a sense of fun to the team—ready to share ideas, solve problems together, and get stuck in!
Excellent Communication and Interaction Skills
You know how to tune into children’s needs and interests, using high-quality interactions to extend their thinking, language, and learning.
Level 3 Qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and the skills to put it into practice with confidence and creativity.
Paediatric First Aid Certification
Up-to-date training to respond calmly and effectively to the everyday bumps, scrapes, and emergencies that come with life in Early Years.
Experience in a Nursery or Early Years Setting
Hands-on experience supporting young children’s learning and development in a play-based environment.
A passionate and friendly team, committed to creating a nurturing and inspiring environment for children.
Ongoing professional development and opportunities to develop your skills.
