What is the job role?

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Early Years Teaching Assistant who is passionate and committed to work with our amazing children and staff from September 2025. The role is fixed term, initially for one year until 31.08.2026.

The successful candidate will be a member of a strong team of teachers and support staff.

Who are we looking for?

You will be a passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistant who is committed to providing an exciting and inspiring curriculum for our Early Years pupils. 

Candidates should have:

  • A commitment to make a difference to children’s lives through education.
  • A good understanding of the Early Years curriculum
  • NVQ  / NNEB Level 3 in Child Development or Early Years or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding
  • The ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups of children, teachers, parents and other members of staff 
  • A sympathetic approach to parents and an understanding of the need for confidentiality
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers and other members of staff
  • The ability to accept guidance and direction from teachers 
  • The ability to use own initiative
  • The ability to adapt to differing environments within the EYFS and to the needs of different children
  • A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
  • Previous experience of working in an Early Years’ setting and knowledge and experience of SEN would be advantageous but not essential.
  • A dedication to actively contribute to school life and the wider community.
  • A sense of humour, positive outlook and a kind heart.
  • A commitment to your own professional learning which is supported by a dedicated leadership team.
