About this Role
We are looking for a skilled and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our team at Trenode Church of England Primary Academy. This position is for 2 days a week (Monday and Tuesday) working in a mixed Year 3/4/5/6 class with a lunchtime supervisor role for 30 minutes for the 2 days. The successful candidate will be confident working across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting high‑quality learning in a range of classrooms. You will work closely with teachers to provide targeted support for pupils, including those with special educational needs, helping to remove barriers and promote positive progress.
As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in:
- Supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the classroom.
- Providing targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND) as required.
- Using ‘Read Write Inc’ and other systematic phonics programmes to help children learn to read, write, and spell fluently and confidently.
- Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team to create a calm, positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Contract type: Fixed Term
Contract terms: Part time
Working weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Paid weeks: 43.699 per year (includes holiday entitlement)
Working Days: Monday - Tuesday
Total Hours per week: 12.5
Payscale: Bridge 2
