Teaching Assistant job summary

This is a fixed term full time post working 32.5 hours per week, term time plus two training days. There may be some flexibility of hours of work available.

At DSAT Multi Academy Trust, children are at the centre of all we do. Our ambitious and emerging Multi Academy Trust currently comprises of 17 Primary schools across Rotherham, Sheffield and Doncaster.

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Teaching Assistant with good interpersonal skills and high standards. Experience of working with pupils in the primary setting and with additional needs is essential. An understanding of ASD or ADHD needs would be beneficial. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious teaching assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be working with individual pupils to support their learning needs and engagement with the curriculum, mostly within a wider class setting. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and motivate children and will be a committed member of the whole school team. This role will also include promoting positive play and behaviour in the playground during playtimes and lunchtime sessions.

We offer full training and on-going support to the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will need to work collaboratively with class teachers and respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of children.

Applicants applying for the post must already hold a relevant recognised NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification. The successful candidates must have a minimum of Grade C or 4 in GSCE English and Maths (or equivalent), and experience of working in a primary school setting.

We seek to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will support the school’s vision and Christian values (you don't need to be a praticising christian to apply), be willing to take part in staff development and be happy to join a caring, supportive and progressive team.
