What skills and experience we're looking for

Alston Moor Federation is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who have additional educational needs. This role is based on a for 32.5 hours a week, and the working hours are 8:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, with a thirty minute unpaid lunch break each day. The post is term time only, plus 5 inset days. This post is linked to SEND funding, with a potential for this to be extended. The successful candidate may be required to work across all three schools.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in schools and will have a knowledge of preparing and developing resources for learning activities and supporting learners in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis, inside and outside of the classroom. The post will be in reception. They will need to have a knowledge of Autism and Early Years Education. They will be flexible, enthusiastic, creative and willing to work across all of the primary school ages if required.

What the school offers its staff

You will work under the guidance of teaching staff to support access to learning and provide 1 to 1 support. Work may be carried out in the classroom but may include accompanying a specific child on school trips and visits.
