Nursery Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a Nursery Assistant (level 2) who, under the instruction & guidance of our wonderful teaching team, can undertake work, care and support programmes to assist in managing the children & nursery whilst ensuring that every pupil has access to learning and is achieving their full potential. This position would suit a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who is enthusiastic about making a difference!

Fixed term contract until 31/08/2024

Working days: Monday, Wednesday & Fridays, Term time only

Hours: 18 hours per week- 8:30am to 3pm with a half hour break.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establish constructive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Implement individual education/behaviour plans and personal care programmes.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
  • Help promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
  • Maintain positive and constructive working relationships with pupils, families, multi-agencies, professionals and colleagues, to maximise pupils’ development

Roundhill Primary School is set on the south west side of the city of Bath serving the local wards of Southdown, Whiteway and Twerton. Roundhill Primary was formed in 2015, as a result of amalgamation of Southdown Infants and Southdown Juniors. Since then we have had major refurbishment of the buildings and the school provides a spacious, well-resourced learning environment. The school is set in extensive, attractive grounds, which make a significant contribution to our curriculum and after school provision. We have excellent nursery provision for two year olds and our three year old provision is within our integrated Foundation Stage Unit.

In December 2018, we joined The Partnership Trust, which is a multi-academy trust.
