Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team at Finedon Nursery and Infant School on a part-time basis from September 2026.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Wants to work with enthusiastic and well-behaved children.
  • Values personal development as well as academic achievement.
  • Has experience in leading phonics.
  • Can help develop social and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for all teaching and learning activities.
  • Is dedicated to providing the best education experience for our children.

The school is a well-resourced modern teaching and learning environment. Our dedicated leadership team is committed to continuous improvement. We work together with our partner schools in the Learning for Life Education Trust, a locally based multi-academy trust.

Hours of work - You will be required to work 12 hours and 30 minutes per week, 38 weeks per year. Daily hours are 8:35- 3:25 with 30 minutes for lunch. Days to be negotiated on appointment. Please note that holidays cannot be taken in term time, but an allowance for holiday entitlement is paid accordingly.

The Infant School admits 45 children each year into two Reception classes. In Year 1 and 2, we have four single-age classes in the mornings and three mixed Year 1 and 2 classes in the afternoon. At the end of Year 2, children transfer to the Junior School.
