We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team here E-ACT Barton Hill Academy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
  • Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with the established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour

Pay range: SCP5-7 £22,471.55-£23,191.82 (FTE: £25,583.00-£26,403.00)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCESs maths & English minimum of grade 4 or equivalent
  • TA1 qualification or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of strategies for spelling, reading and number skills
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
  • Ability to extend children's thinking skills
