Teaching Assistant for a Child 1:1 Care

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a dedicated, creative and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our experienced staff team to work 1:1 with a child.

Applicants must demonstrate a good knowledge of the requirements of working with children and in a 1:1 role. They must have good planning and observations skills together with experience of working with children in the KS1 and KS2 age-range and have the ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, children and parents. Applicants must feel passionately about the rights of every child to achieve and thrive in education.

Ideally you will hold a Level 2 childcare qualification and have experience of working with children with additional needs.

Every day you will be supporting a fun-loving boy to access the full curriculum, continue to build relationships with his peers and translate the world around him in a meaningful way.

The ideal candidate will have:

• The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues;
• A lot of energy;
• Commitment to equal opportunities;
• The ability to work in a team but also to use your own initiative;
• Organisational and time management skills;
• Experience of working with children with autism;
• The ability to manage behaviour proactively, creatively and positively;
• Excellent communication skills; with an ability to answer as many ‘Why’ questions as a day can hold;
• A love of stories and puppets
• A great sense of humour.
