What skills and experience we're looking for

Lockyer’s Middle School is seeking to appoint an inspiring teaching assistant who is committed to providing the best quality learning experience for our children. We need an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated professional to join our learning-focused team. The successful candidate must have high expectations of children’s learning and behaviour and should be enthusiastic, passionate and energetic. You will be positive, flexible and nurturing and be able to build and maintain good relationships with students, staff and parents/carers. You will have a willingness to learn new skills and be able to adapt to support the needs of the children. We need a creative team member to complement our staff and support our pupils with their learning. This role complements the professional work of teachers by providing support in-class and small group support to students across the school from Year 5 to Year 8. There will be opportunities to develop within the team and make a valued contribution to students’ learning. The role is very varied, with no one day being the same, whilst being extremely rewarding. We are seeking an individual who: ● is able to adapt to suit the needs of the children and be able to inspire and engage them. ● is able to support individuals and small groups in their learning and use their initiative to personalise and adapt where necessary. ● is willing to undertake additional training to meet the needs of the children. ● is reflective and committed to professional development. ● is enthusiastic about the education of children, across every area of the curriculum. ● can build and maintain professional and positive working relationships. ● has a sense of humour and is a good team player.
