Teaching Assistant job summary

The Directors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our new SEN Hub. The Academy has recently been given SEN Hub status which is an exciting opportunity to work with other schools in Birmingham to provide 6-week placements of short intensive intervention programmes to improve the literacy skills of small cohorts of students. The SEN HUB team will consist of a Hub Teacher, a Teaching Assistant and a Hub Lead. Working as part of this team you will work to support the development and education of pupils including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate. Ideally you will have experience of working with children with some experience of supporting children in Literacy, Numeracy and working with SEN groups and individuals. You will have good health and safety knowledge and awareness, flexibility, and determination to make a real difference to our academy. We are looking for a committed team player with excellent organisational skills - with the ability to work independently, use ICT efficiently and manage time effectively and prioritise workload with high levels of drive and resilience. The successful candidate will work closely with the SEN HUB teacher to support small cohorts of students to improve their literacy skills.
