Full-Time Teaching Assistant
Salary: Band 4, SCP6 - £25,989 (pro-rata, full-time equivalent)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only
(Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm; Friday 8:30am-4:00pm)

The Academy Council is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team from April 2026.
About the RoleThis rewarding role involves working as part of a small, dedicated team to deliver an individualised package of support for children with additional and complex needs. You will provide targeted interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis for pupils across the school, alongside general classroom support in all age groups.
The role also includes supervising pupils during break and lunchtime, helping to facilitate a safe and positive dining experience and promoting positive, inclusive play.
The Successful Candidate Will:Have experience of working with children across the primary phase.
Have experience supporting children with additional needs, including those with limited communication and social and communication difficulties, and understand how these needs can impact behaviour and presentation.
Have experience of working restoratively with children who experience difficulties regulating their behaviour.
Be a creative, flexible and enthusiastic practitioner who brings their own strengths to enhance the excellent work already established in our school.
Be caring, patient and committed to supporting high standards and a love of learning.
Be able to follow direction while also working confidently using their own initiative.
Work effectively as part of a close and supportive team to achieve the best outcomes for our children and wider school community.
Be committed to our vision and values and keen to contribute to all aspects of school life.
GCSE (Grade A-C) in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualification.
Full and relevant EYFS qualification (see attached list).
Current First Aid certificate.
Knowledge and experience of the Read, Write, Inc. Phonics programme.
