Teaching Assistant/HLTA for SEND Base job summary

St Frideswides Primary School is seeking to appoint a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant/HLTA to join our team in the SEND Base. Working 32.5 hours per week over 5 days.

We are looking for a SEND Base Teaching Assistant/HLTA

  • To have an enthusiastic, imaginative, and caring approach to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • To be able to work as part of a team and build positive relationships
  • To have grand expectations of students’ achievements relating to learning, independence, and behaviour
  • To have the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • To be able to be flexible in your teaching approach.
  • Willingness to develop own CPD
  • To have the ability to use ICT effectively to support teaching and learning

Your Experience

The job description describes the full areas of skills and experience we require, but, it is important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have all the skills we are looking for there are some essential features our appointee will need to have, and these include:

  • Experience working within primary or SEND setting.
  • Excellent communication, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
