Kingfisher Primary Academy is a thriving two-form entry school with a 52-place nursery, located in the heart of Doncaster. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant - Inclusion to join our team. This role is vital in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Main Purpose of role:
- To contribute to facilitating pupil access to learning, assessing and supporting achievement and monitoring progress
- To provide practical and developmental assistance to cater for the educational, personal and emotional development of all pupils;
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to children who are experiencing difficulties in learning due to learning, social or emotional needs
- Contribute to decision making around the children and assessment.
- Work with relevant staff to assess children's needs and devise strategies to overcome barriers preventing them from achieving their full potential.
- Work with children and relevant staff to develop, implement, monitor and key actions.
- Help children to increase their confidence and self-esteem by listening to them and devising appropriate strategies.
- Run groups in response to assessment (e.g. motional), including creative and sporting activities.
- Help children who are not achieving their potential on a one-to-one basis outside the classroom or within lessons.
- Liaise with relevant staff and external agencies, as needed, to ensure all children's needs are met.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare written reports and evaluations.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the principal.

Kingfisher is a fantastic academy that places great importance on the success of its pupils. Children are assessed regularly and effective support ensures children make progress. An innovative curriculum has been designed to ensure that children take part in exciting lessons and that they play an active part in their own learning. A number of extra curricular clubs ensure that children have access to a range of enriching activities.
As an academy we love working with parents and have an increasing army of volunteer helpers who support us during the school day. We value the opinions of children in school and they have their own council. The council has regular meetings and discuss a wide range of issues.
Kingfisher is a two form entry academy (420 places) with a 52 place nursery.
