Teaching Assistant job summary

Contract : Permanent (Term-time only)

We are looking for someone who can work under the instruction and guidance of the class teacher to undertake work that enables access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

This post would suit someone looking to start their career as a Teaching Assistant, or a more experienced TA looking for a new challenge.

Leafield C.E. is a small friendly school with dedicated staff. We are situated in a beautiful rural setting, and we are at an exciting time in our school’s development.

We are looking for someone who can:

- Build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues

- Encourage independence and boost children’s self esteem

- Use strategies to support pupils to achieve learning objectives

- Show initiative, be able to follow instruction and be a team player

- Have a positive, resilient and caring approach to supporting children with a range of needs

- Have a particular interest and passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs
