Longdean School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to oversee the Learning Support Unit as maternity cover.

We are looking for applicants who put the experience of the child at the heart of their practice, someone eager to extend children’s learning and make it fun. You will support students who access the Learning Support Unit (often with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and/or Autism needs) and enable them to access to the wider curriculum and achieve their potential. You will manage and look after the Learning Support Unit and its resources.

Working as part of a TA Team, you will support the attainment and wellbeing of students with a range of learning and communication needs.

The successful candidate will set themselves high personal standards and be keen to develop professionally to support the school’s aspirational approach to learning.

A professional dress code is expected.

If you have a ‘can do’ attitude and can offer the team excellent communication skills, show intuition within a range of everyday tasks and activities and want to support the needs of the pupils with flair; this could be the role for you.
