Location: Highfield Ely Academy, Ely, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time (32.50 hours, 39 Weeks)
Working Pattern: Monday 8.30am to 4.00pm, Tuesday to Friday 8.40am to 3.30pm
Salary: ALT Grade C Actual Salary £19,417.99 - £19,568.43 plus retention allowance £2,688.65
We are looking for two Teaching Assistant’s (Level 1) to join Highfield Ely Academy, working closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, independence and wellbeing across the school day. This role centres on helping children engage, understand and succeed, whether through small-group support, encouraging positive behaviour or preparing a purposeful learning environment. It offers a varied and hands-on contribution to classroom life, as well as the wider experience of pupils in and beyond lessons. Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals and small groups in the classroom, helping pupils understand tasks and stay engaged
- Assist teachers with behaviour management, inclusion and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Prepare and organise learning resources, classroom displays and equipment
- Provide pastoral support, including helping with pupils’ wellbeing, independence and social development
- Contribute to supervision, educational visits and basic record-keeping, ensuring a safe and supportive setting
