Teaching Assistant - Level 1 job summary
Required for the start of the Summer Term 2026
25 hours (Teaching Assistant - Reception Stage based) plus 6.25 hours (Midday Supervision) per week (term-time only)
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.15pm
Actual Salary: £14,047 - £14,493 (Grade 4, Points 3-5) Meridian Trust Support Salary Scale (Level 1 Teaching Assistant).
In addition, Midday Supervisor actual salary is £3,511 (Grade 3, Point 3) Meridian Trust Support Staff Salary Scale.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support and teaching. You will be part of a fantastic team of teaching and support staff working in our Reception stage. You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to children's needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school - you will work closely with our SENDCo and Teaching Assistant team to provide our children with the best possible educational opportunities. An element of your duties will also include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/class displays. You will be responsible to the Headteacher.

The ideal candidate:
Will possess GCSE English & Mathematics (Grade C/4) or above
Will have experience of working with children, particularly in EYFS (although not essential)
Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team
Can be adaptable and resourceful
An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
