Teaching Assistant Level 2 job summary

About this Role

This role includes providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside delivering targeted small group interventions for Key Stage 2 children. You will work collaboratively with class teachers and the wider inclusion team, using adaptive, child centred approaches that recognise the importance of regulation, wellbeing and positive relationships as foundations for learning. From sharing high quality texts and fostering communication, to leading structured sensory circuits that support self regulation and readiness to learn, you will help remove barriers and promote engagement. We value the unique strengths adults bring to school life — whether through sport, dance, music, cooking, poetry, gardening, creativity or imaginative play involving dinosaurs, space or superheroes — and recognise the positive impact these can have on children’s confidence, curiosity and progress. We welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, including SEND parents, and may be able to offer flexibility around start and finish times for the right candidate.

Our students come from all walks of life, and we want our staffing body to be reflective of the communities we work within. Brooke Weston Trust does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, nationality, culture, age, disability, marital status or socio-economic backgrounds. We encourage and welcome applications from minority groups and foster a work environment that’s inclusive as well as diverse, where people can be themselves.
