What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to a continued significant increase in pupil numbers St Luke’s Primary School requires a dynamic and enthusiastic member of staff to help support the learning of children at our school.

St Luke’s has grown considerably over the past three years and we are expecting this increase to continue.

What the school offers its staff

We have a Professional Development lead who will organise all of your training, whilst you are at St Luke's.

We understand that most people who start at St Luke's may not have worked in a special school before and therefore we offer a comprehensive induction package.

We have training or Team Time every Tuesday Night (4:00 to 4:50pm) and we have three training days and 4 twilight training sessions each academic year.

We use these to support training and development.Our training includes the following areas:

  • Communication (Speech and Language) Training
  • Trauma Informed Practice
  • Meeting Sensory Needs
  • Understanding Child Development
  • Meeting the needs of the children
  • Level 1 Team Teach
  • Moving and Handling Training
  • Safeguarding Training
