If so, and you can demonstrate that you are passionate about maximising our children’s learning potential, then this role could be for you.
This is an exciting role for the right person to join our large, friendly and incredibly dedicated team of teaching assistants, supporting teaching staff and pupils across our school. We require a qualified and experienced teaching assistant who ideally has recent experience within Foundation, KS1 and KS2 phases with a strong working knowledge of phase curriculums.
You will be assisting with supervision of the pupils in the classroom, in groups and 1:1 when required. There will also be an opportunity for the right person to undertake HLTA duties, covering for teacher’s PPA and management time. We are a Read Write Inc Model School and so there may be opportunities for a suitable candidate to undertake RWInc training.

Your priority will be to ensure that our children maximise their learning potential and are always working towards positive outcomes.

We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves on our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.
Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”. Our school is very well resourced and we see the benefits of regular training and development of staff, ensuring they really do make a genuine difference to our children’s education.
