  • Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people

  • Understanding classroom roles and responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides particular support for pupils needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities

  • Promotes the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils

  • Sets challenging and demanding expectations and promotes self-esteem and independence

  • Have the ability to promote independence and confidence.

  • Work constructively as part of a team

  • Be an excellent role model to all

  • Working with SEND students

  • Effective use of ICT to support learning

  • Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

  • General understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies

  • Ability to work using own initiative and work without supervision

  • An awareness and knowledge of the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children.

  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities

  • To be able to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these

Further details about the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support individuals and groups of students to enable access to learning, contributing to the development and maintenance of a purposeful, nurturing learning environment. Working with students of various ages (11 to 16) across a number of subjects, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a school environment, supporting and making a difference to young people’s lives.

The successful candidate will possess good communication, literacy and numeracy skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement with enthusiasm and adaptability. Your positive outlook and a willingness to be fully involved in school life will ensure you thrive in this role.
