What skills and experience we're looking for
Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people
Understanding classroom roles and responsibilities
Supervises and provides particular support for pupils needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
Promotes the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Sets challenging and demanding expectations and promotes self-esteem and independence
Have the ability to promote independence and confidence.
Work constructively as part of a team
Be an excellent role model to all
Working with SEND students
Effective use of ICT to support learning
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
General understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
Ability to work using own initiative and work without supervision
An awareness and knowledge of the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children.
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support individuals and groups of students to enable access to learning, contributing to the development and maintenance of a purposeful, nurturing learning environment. Working with students of various ages (11 to 16) across a number of subjects, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a school environment, supporting and making a difference to young people’s lives.
The successful candidate will possess good communication, literacy and numeracy skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement with enthusiasm and adaptability. Your positive outlook and a willingness to be fully involved in school life will ensure you thrive in this role.
