An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a committed team here at E-ACT Parkwood Academy. The ideal candidate will need to be enthusiastic hard-working and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their best. The successful candidate will work with teachers to support teaching & learning, providing general & specific assistance to pupils under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
- Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
- Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with the established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour
Pay range: SCP 4 -6, - £22,150.90 - £22,858.04 - FTE: £25,185.00 - £25,989.00 - 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Qualifications and Skills:
- GCESs Maths & English minimum of grade 4 or equivalent
- TA2 qualification or relevant experience
- Knowledge of strategies for spelling, reading and number skills
- Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
- Ability to extend children's thinking skills
