- Full time, part time: Consideration will be given to candidates who can commit to working flexibly on a minimum of 4 days per week, working a minimum of 25 hours per week, upto 37 hours across 5 days, term time only. Exact hours and days to be discussed during selection process.

- Fixed term - Initally to 31st August 2026 with a view to making the position permanent due to the uplift in needs within the younger pupils
Full-time equivalent salary
- Grade 3 SCP, £25,583 to £25,989 FTE (subject to pay award due on or after April 2026)
What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governors at Greystones Primary School are looking to appoint Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 teams, starting in February 2026.
The position will involve working in these teams in school supporting individual children with speech and language needs, following bespoke plans.
The successful candidate will:
Have a keen interest in children's language development and learning
Enjoy working with children with special educational needs
Have experience supporting children with social communication or other needs
Support individual children and/or groups both in class and out of class where appropriate, following teacher direction
Feel motivated to work with pupils with a range of strengths and needs to ensure the best outcomes for every child
Have a role supervising children during some playtimes and lunchtimes to ensure positive social experiences at school
Be an excellent team-player and good communicator

Greystones Primary School is a three-form entry school situated in the south west leafy suburbs of Sheffield, approximately two miles from city centre, serving cosmopolitan and aspirational neighbourhood, with an on-roll number of 619 pupils in December 2025.
Our wonderful Edwardian buildings have undergone significant improvements in recent years, culminating in a major expansion project which was completed March 2016.
The school is supported by strong dedicated networks of parental involvement, led by a core Leadership Team comprising Headteacher (newly appointed in January 2024), Deputy Head, Assistant Head and Business Manager, with a wider extended leadership structure of Phase Leaders for FS2, KS1, Lower KS2, Upper KS2 and Inclusion/SEND.
The school has an integrated resource for hearing impaired and deaf children staffed directly Sheffield Hearing Service.
The school is currently closely working with Peak Edge Academy Trust, with which it will convert to Academy Status in early 2026.
