King’s Leadership Phoenix Academy is seeking to appoint an empathetic, adaptable, and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our growing and passionate team.

Situated in Wavertree, Liverpool, King’s Phoenix is a dynamic alternative provision school serving a vibrant cohort of students aged 11-16, many of whom have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Teaching Assistant at King’s Phoenix, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and engaging learning environment that nurtures both academic progress and personal development.

We’re Looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Who:

  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with young people through a trauma-informed approach
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Supports teachers in delivering inclusive, differentiated classroom practice
  • Is confident supporting pupils 1:1 and in small group settings
  • Remains calm and resourceful in challenging situations
  • Reflects a growth mindset and is open to continuous professional learning
  • Brings experience of or passion for working in SEMH or alternative provision settings

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting students’ access to learning, across a range of subjects and settings
  • Providing tailored academic and emotional support in line with student needs and EHCPs
  • Promoting student engagement, motivation and independence
  • Supporting teachers with classroom management, resources, and administrative tasks
  • Assisting with behaviour support planning, de-escalation strategies, and restorative practices
  • Collaborating with pastoral teams, SEN, and external agencies to meet holistic needs
  • Contributing to a calm, inclusive and respectful classroom culture underpinned by the Phoenix 5 values

We're looking for Level 2 Teaching Assistants or individuals who are keen to complete additional training towards their Level 2.

Hours of work are 8.15 am - 3.30 pm with a 3 pm finish on a Friday.
