About the Trust

Ebor Academy Trust is a family of schools located across North and East Yorkshire, York and the Humber region. We think of ourselves as being one school across many sites, working collaboratively to deliver high quality, rich and engaging education in our diverse communities. Our aims are to enable all our learners to flourish and to open doors for their very best futures.

We genuinely seek to live by our values of Excellence, Belonging, Opportunity and Respect; these underpin how we work and how we relate to each other. We have high ambitions for our learners and staff and aim to deliver this through a culture of continuous development, support, kindness and understanding. We are a friendly trust that puts people first.

About the role

Alderman Cogan's Church of England Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. At Ebor Academy Trust, our Teaching assistants support a broad range of classroom needs including, Safeguarding & Wellbeing, Special Educational Needs and Early Years education. There is also a more general classroom support element of the role which supports the class teacher with delivery of the curriculum. Teaching assistants rotate between the areas of work to enable the school to meet the changing needs of our children.

Primarily in this role you will start by providing support and cover within our dedicated EYFS team. The hours for this position are to work Monday - Friday 8.45am - 3.15pm hours per week, and will be worked during the school term time.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of all children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step by step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils.

No two days are the same when you work within a primary school, being able to work flexibly is of the most upmost importance.

You may be supporting the class teacher with the running of the classroom, working with small groups of children as and when needed and under the direction of the teacher or helping to organise resources and putting up displays.

In the first instance this role will be focusing on Early Years, however as per the job description this role is rotational meaning that in line with the needs of the school and pupils, the focus of the role may adapt over time. Please see the job description attached for more information on each focus within the role.
