An exciting opportunity has arisen for Teaching Assistant Level 3to join Highpoint Academy.

The High Point Academy opened in September 2021, and we aim for all our pupils to be "ACE" we have ambitious aspirations for all our learners, we wish to challenge the impossible and encourage independence for all.

We educate up to 112 pupils aged 11-16 years with autism and moderate learning difficulties. High Point is part of Forward Education Trust.

Teaching Assistants are responsible for supporting and leading small groups and individuals with Maths, English, Reading, SEMH, vocational and practical activities, supporting pupils to develop resilience, social skills and self-esteem, and deploying effective strategies for supporting pupils with a range of behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will:

Provide support to pupils across the school, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes for a session

Provide a high standard of nurturing and education, through quality interactions and by developing strong, authentic relationships with all children including on a one-to-one basis if required.

Be proactive, flexible and a reliable team player, offering support to colleagues.

Build and maintain strong relationships to enable all children to flourish and ensure our community needs are at the forefront of all we do.

Support children to make progress through working closely with a supportive and experienced team, as well as external professionals.

Provide regular feedback to the class teacher, SLT and other colleagues regarding children’s progress and general wellbeing.

Have NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience.
