Teaching Assistant Level 3 job summary

-To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.

The duties and responsibilities allocated to the post include:

  • Support learning through an individualised/ differentiated curriculum.
  • Adapt the curriculum to suit needs (with support from the class teacher).
  • Maintain records of progress against identified objectives.
  • Help the child to socialise with peers and other children within school.
  • Attend appropriate training.
  • Attend review meetings.
  • Work as part of a team within the class.
  • To support children on a one to one basis /within a small group and within the whole class.
  • To encourage the child to become independent.
  • Work on own initiative whilst working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the individual child
