Oundle Primary School is proud to announce that we are launching a brand-new

pre-school provision in the new academic year for children aged 3-4!

This is the start of an exciting chapter for Oundle Primary School, our staff and pupils, as we seek to enhance the opportunities we provide the children in our community, by offering an early start to EYFS education in a school setting.

It is our belief that all children should have an inspiring educational experience filled with fun and stimulating opportunities to learn, that develops their curiosity and a love of learning. We understand the importance of fostering the knowledge and skills that are necessary as the foundations for their future education. We enjoy extending children’s learning through focusing on their interests and weaving that into their daily curriculum and we create a rich and entertaining learning environment, with a heavy focus on outdoor learning and ‘real life’ hands on learning. We are therefore excited to extend this focus within our new pre-school setting, to ensure all children have the very best start in life, and their educational journey.

As part of this new provision, which will operate both separately and alongside our current EYFS classes, we are seeking to recruit two Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants. This is a unique opportunity to join a school, working specifically with under 4-year-olds. We are seeking a professional, knowledgeable and passionate practitioner, who can work together to help bring our pre-school to life.

At Oundle, we are proud to support our pupils to ‘be the best we can be.’ Following a successful Ofsted inspection in November 2023 inspectors reported that our three threads of ‘joy, kindness and resilience, are ‘weaved throughout life at school.’ In doing so, we seek to enable all pupils, regardless of their starting points, to flourish as individuals and reach their full potential. By learning to keep an on aspiring to ‘be the best they can be,’ our children achieve well and strive for more.

This goal extends towards our staff too. We acknowledge and appreciate the hardworking passion that our community commit to our school, and our success is due in no small part of their dedication and professionalism. We support staff with CPD, opportunities and training to ‘be the best they can be.’ Ofsted inspectors reported that ‘there is a calm yet excited feel around the school and the relationships between pupils and staff are highly respectful.’

Oundle is ‘particularly ambitious for those who are disadvantaged including those with special educational need and/or disability’ (Ofsted 2023) and therefore we expect the successful candidate to share in this motivation.

The successful candidate will therefore:

  • Holds the necessary Early Years Level 3 qualification required for this role, and has experience in working in a similar setting with proven success.
  • Be approachable, friendly and positive about their role in education and contribution to our whole school community.
  • Is committed to supporting, motivating and challenging the learning of children of all abilities within the provision.
  • Is a positive team player, able to work with all EYFS practitioners to create a dynamic and progressive approach to our extended EYFS setting.
  • Displays confidence in using a range of age-appropriate behaviour management and support skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, flexibly and independently.
  • Shows initiative and creativity in different learning situations.
  • Is passionate about children’s social and learning development, and well-being.
  • Is keen to support the ethos of a church school.

We are a family of 34 schools across the Peterborough Diocese, and these strong links make special contribution to our children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and learning. If you feel this role is for you, please reach out and apply! We look forward to reading your application form.
