What skills and experience we're looking for

37 hours per week, working 5 days per week, term time only + INSET days

Holy Brook School provides education for children aged between 4 and 11 years old who primarily have social emotional and mental health needs.

Our children may be neurodivergent and have additional needs, including autism and/ or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. We are proud to be a Reading Borough Council local authority school.

We seek a dynamic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our skilled, supportive and committed team. It is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils in the classroom, individually and in small groups
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including social, emotional, and/or learning needs
• Supervising pupils during break times and onsite and off-site school activities as required, including swimming and forest school
• Contributing to reflective discussions and our ethos of collaborative working

We are looking for someone who:
• Is patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about working with children and supporting their learning and progress
• Has good communication and teamwork skills
• Is reliable, flexible, and eager to learn
• Has experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
• Shares the values and ethos of Holy Brook School
• Is calm under pressure and resilient
• Understands the principles and importance of safeguarding children and child protection
