This role could potentially be undertaken alongside another (also currently advertised) as a class teacher for 5 x afternoons
St. Martin’s CE Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a TA3 Teaching Assistant who is both knowledgeable and confident in teaching pupils across the primary phase, including 1:1 support/intervention, group work and whole-class teaching.
The role will include the teaching of and support with:
- Phonics (whole class and in groups)
- Reading, Writing and Maths
- IT/Computing skills and knowledge
- Social and Emotional development
- 1:1, small group and larger group teaching & learning
- Interventions for pupils with additional needs
- Teaching all subjects across the primary curriculum
- Classroom cover (both timetabled, e.g. PPA time and short-term sickness cover)
We are looking for someone who will:
- be committed to the distinctiveness of our church school ethos and the promotion of Christian values;
- have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience within a school;
- possess literacy and numeracy skills to a high standard;
- have strong IT / computing skills and knowledge;
- have experience of Key Stage 2 (Years 3 - 6) - this is essential;
- have experience of SEN support / interventions - this would be an advantage;
- have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and outside agencies.
The successful postholder will work alongside the school’s Senior Leadership Team and Class Teachers, and will be supported by the wider staff team.
