Your new school Lift Percy Shurmer is a large two-form entry primary academy who currently have 450 pupils aged from 3 to 11 which also include 39 children in the Nursery and 22 deaf pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). The school is led by an ambitious and dedicated Principle, Marie Duffy who has progressed within the school. She has established a strong and personable team and in 2023 were graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted who recognised ''parents are overwhelmingly positive about the quality of education their children receive.'' We are now looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team. Your new role Lift Percy Shurmer is part of Lift Schools, one of the largest MATs in the country, allowing you access to the best training, we will provide hands-on training to ensure your career in education gets off to the best possible start and support you with higher level teaching-assistant programmes to increase your role and responsibilities should you wish. We are looking for a teaching assistant to work in partnership with teachers to improve the learning and attainment of students while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. The role provides support to students so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement. This role is vital in supporting our students and helping them achieve their potential. What you'll need to succeed You will have a L3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification with an understanding of a range of pupil's learning needs. You will have patience in interactions with a variety of students and situations, with a calm demeanour and have empathy to understand the needs and challenges of students and be able to relate to them on a personal level. Lift Percy Shurmer and Lift Montgomery are led by an Executive Principal and one management board. Each school has a Head of School. Our Curriculum

We believe that children learn best when their learning experiences are evocative, therefore we teach most of our subjects through a connected curriculum. This works by delivering a different theme in each year group for each term throughout the year. The curriculum is planned so that as many learning experiences as possible are linked to this theme; this allows the children to see that their skills are all connected. During the children's learning we try to integrate as many real life experiences as possible that are related to the area they are studying. Literacy, Numeracy and ICT underline our curriculum to ensure that the key skills children need for success, are fully learned before the children move on to secondary education.
