This exciting dual role offers the opportunity to play a vital part in pupils’ educational and social development throughout the school day.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of teaching staff to deliver high-quality support to pupils, helping them achieve their learning goals. At lunchtime, you will take a lead role in ensuring the provision of a safe, engaging, and inclusive play environment, coordinating staff, activities and behaviour strategies across designated zones.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys making a difference, thrives in a busy school environment, and can help promote a positive ethos across both learning and lunchtime settings.

No day is ever the same in this role and we are looking for adaptable and flexible individuals who thrive in an environment with changing priorities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade 9–1 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate experience of working with children in a school or care setting.
  • Be confident managing pupil behaviour and promoting inclusion across both structured and unstructured environments.
  • Be able to support learning activities and adapt to the needs of individuals and groups.
  • Show a calm, confident and proactive approach to pupil supervision and safety.
  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding, equality and child development.
  • Be flexible, resilient, and a strong team player.
  • Be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Have the ability to build a rapport with children.
  • A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.

Candidates should refer to the job description/person specification and explain within their expression of interest how they meet the criteria, whilst also describing what they will bring to the post from their own knowledge and experience.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should a suitable candidate be found; therefore, early application is encouraged.
