Teaching Assistant job summary

Do you believe that education should be truly child-centred, holistic and nurturing? Are you enthusiastic about promoting a love of learning and engage in development of your own and others' practice? Nant-y-Cwm Steiner School is seeking a teaching assistant to work alongside our teaching team to support the children within our new Class One group in September 2025.

Teaching assistants will support the pastoral care of the class and the academic progress of the children they are working with. The ideal candidate will have experience of a Waldorf school, other education setting or relevant work with children. You will also have the ability to communicate and cooperate well with colleagues, parents and the wider community.

Nant-y-Cwm is a vibrant and welcoming community and there are career development possibities for those interested in completing the Waldorf Class Teacher training or who would like to develop professionally. There may be other openings within the school such as wraparound care, that can be done in addition to the teaching assistant role should more hours be required.

The role will commence in as soon as possible or September 2025 and will, in the first instance, involve working primarily with Class One.

We welcome visits to the school from prospective or interested candidates.
