Salary: NJC Grade C: £25,583 - £26,403 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)
Working Pattern: This is a fixed term position working 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2026 (Monday to Friday)
Roundswell Community School are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Nursery team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging school environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated Early Years team to support high-quality provision for our youngest learners. You will help to create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence You will also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can bring energy, compassion and commitment to the role.
Essential qualities include:
NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistants or equivalent Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to relate well to both children and adultsDesirable (but not essential):
Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalentWhy Join Us?
