Teaching Assistant / One-to-one job summary

We are looking to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, welcoming school. The role will be working within Key Stage 1, with there being an element of one-to-one support.

This post is 28.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year and is being offered on a fixed term basis until 31st August 2025.

Our ideal applicant will:

  • Be an excellent practitioner, able to make learning enjoyable
  • Be a teaching assistant in class and have experience of working one to one with a child for part of the day
  • Be able to meet the needs of children with a variety of Special Educational Needs under the direction of a teacher or HLTA
  • Be able to form positive relationships with children, staff and parents
  • Have high expectations of behaviour, effort and attitude and the necessary strategies to promote these qualities
  • Have recent experience of working in a primary school, knowledge of the National Curriculum and the standards required by the new assessment framework
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
