Teaching Assistant - one to one support (named child) job summary
Are you a Teaching Assistant who has a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? Are you seeking a new and exciting challenge? Are you creative and innovative when planning adaptive learning for additional needs within the classroom?
If so, we are looking for a skilled, compassionate and committed teaching assistant to work with a named child within our setting . You must possess excellent communication skills and have a real willingness to support both the learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs of children
Job Role:
Working on a 1-2-1 basis with a named child
Providing additional support for the class teacher
Keeping children engaged, being kind, caring and patient
Helping a child to engage in education and learning
Making school a fun, caring and nurturing environment for the child that you support
Working with a range of professionals to support the child’s needs to ensure outcomes are met.
The successful applicants must have:
You must possess excellent communication skills and have a real willingness to support both the learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs of children.
Makaton desirable, but training available
Experience of working in a school environment
Proven skills in delivering intervention programmes
Is a reflective and flexible practitioner
Excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents
A willingness to partake in on-going training and development as needed

Applicants should be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have a good standard of education (GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English is essential).
