Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

About the Job

This is a very exciting opportunity to work in the Alternative Provision field with young people who are unable to attend their usual schools due to their physical or mental health needs. Hospital and Outreach Education currently work with pupils in Northampton and Kettering General Hospitals, The Sett and Burrows CAMHS inpatient units, Delapre Learning Centre, Stanwick Lakes and in pupils’ homes across Northamptonshire.

Our staff have a usual place of work defined each day but are required to be flexible in terms of their deployment at our different locations based on pupil need. For this reason the position is an essential car user role. You will be able to claim for mileage travelled during the working day, but not for commuting to your usual place of work.

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in our service across Northamptonshire. The role, at this time, involves working with pupils and supporting them in our bases, but may extend to working within homes and supporting reintegration to home schools in the future.

This is a temporary position for one academic year in the first instance, but could be extended after this time.

Hours of Work

Hours of Work: Part- time, negotiable hours, but ideally up to 34 hours per week across five days, term time only. A job share may be considered.
