What skills and experience we're looking for

Teaching assistant (specifically working alongside the pastoral team or as a 1:1)

We will consider full time (27.5 hours) or part time hours for this role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, inspirational and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, welcoming village school.

With a demonstrable understanding of the classroom role and responsibilities, you should possess a sound knowledge of working with, or caring for children, ideally combined with an awareness of policies and procedures relating to child protection.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have high expectations of the children both in terms of achievement and behaviour and be committed to raising standards.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently using their own initiative.
  • Have experience of delivering Mathematics and Literacy intervention programmes.
  • Be able to motivate and inspire children.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents.
  • Have good Literacy and Numeracy skills.
  • Be able to improve learning outcomes with groups and individuals.
  • Have experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Have experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis
