Teaching Assistant job summary

We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at Ravenstone Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting children to thrive both academically and personally within a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school community.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum. You will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils, including those with additional needs such as Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and social and emotional needs. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring that all children can access learning in a safe, engaging and supportive environment.

You will contribute to creating a positive classroom culture by helping to maintain effective learning environments, preparing resources, supporting displays, and encouraging pupils to embody our core values: Happy, Kind, Creative, Honest, Determined and Respectful. You will also support the monitoring and assessment of pupil progress, working collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning and ensure every child reaches their potential.

At Ravenstone, we believe in developing our staff as much as our pupils. You will be part of a dedicated and supportive team, with opportunities for professional growth through collaboration, training and development within the school and across the Wandle Learning Trust.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is passionate about working with children and making a meaningful difference
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and building positive relationships
  • Brings energy, initiative and a nurturing approach to supporting learning
  • Is committed to inclusion and supporting all children to succeed

In return, Ravenstone offers a warm, welcoming environment where staff are valued, supported and encouraged to grow. You will be joining a school that is proud of its community, ambitious for its future, and deeply committed to providing the very best for its children.

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to be part of a school where little moments truly become big lessons.
