Teaching Assistant (reading intervention support) job summary
Clarendon Academy is looking to appoint a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide reading intervention support to students in its Reading Hub. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants. The SEND team continues to grow and offers a supportive environment for staff to grow and develop their career.
Working Hours: Part Time (30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year including Teacher Training days). Required: September 2025.

Working with small groups of students, you will be responsible for delivering a reading programme to help our learners with literacy progress and will make a real difference to their school lives. You will work in our Reading Hub, alongside a dedicated team of other intervention teaching assistants and the wider SEND team.
We would like to hear from you:
- Have at least grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent;
- Have a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children and supporting them in their development;
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
- Are self-motivated, dedicated and consistent;
- Have the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Are a strong team player, good at building relationships;
- Have a confident, resilient and flexible attitude;
- Are organised and enthusiastic;
- Have experience of working with children in a school environment (desirable).
