Teaching Assistant job summary

Are you looking to work in a high performing and supportive organisation where you can make a genuine difference?

We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and collaborative SEND team, to support the learning and development of all of our students.

If you have a passion for working with young people, with a focus on students’ learning, their social and emotional development and are looking to work within a supportive and professional team, we would love to hear from you.

Your opportunity

As a key member of the Rosebery SEND team and working closely with Teaching colleagues, our Teaching Assistants provide high-quality and timely support to students, supporting their learning and development, in areas such as independent learning, social and emotional wellbeing and metacognitive skills including planning, problem solving and reviewing.  The successful candidate will maintain a presence in lessons and SEND support areas, ensuring students have access to uncluttered, well-organised learning environments and have the resources necessary to access their learning as independently as possible. Our Teaching Assistants also assist with supporting student educational visits, break and lunchtime supervision and deliver therapy and/or care programmes designed by external agencies.

What we are looking for

  • Someone with experience of working with young people, ideally with those with SEN
  • An empathetic communicator who is able to develop positive relationships with students and adults
  • An ability to scaffold students’ learning
  • Commitment to the process of learning
  • A positive role model who is able to stay calm and objective
  • A team player who genuinely believes every child can succeed

Please read the Job Description and Person Specification for more information and before applying.
