Teaching Assistant (SEND) job summary
Are you looking for an exciting Teaching Assistant post where you can develop and progress in your career?
We are looking to recruit full-time Teaching Assistants (SEND) to work at our fantastic school from Easter (or earlier if possible).
We require skilled and enthusiastic TAs (SEND) who can support teaching and learning and address the personal and individual needs of our pupils. You will need to be a good communicator and be playful, calm, resilient and able to work as part of a team. Ideally, you will be qualified to at least NVQ2 in a relevant area and have some experience of working in a primary school. Experience and expertise of working with children with communication difficulties, medical issues, SEMH needs or on the autistic spectrum will be advantageous in these roles.
The roles are permanent but subject to a successful 6-month probationary period. The role will be paid on Band B1 with progression up to B3 expected following successful performance management (please see the two job descriptions). Where appropriate, we will offer pay point portability for experienced TAs already working at other schools. Your hours of work will be 8.30-3.30 Mon-Fri, with 30 minutes for lunch, term time only. You will not routinely be expected to work Teacher Training Days, but may be invited to do so on occasion and be paid overtime.
If you would like more information on the role ahead of applying, please email office@farsleyfarfield.org.uk. The closing date for applications is 9am on Friday 4th February. If you are successful in the short-listing process, you will be invited to attend an interview on Wednesday 16th February.
Farsley Farfield promote diversity and want a workforce which reflects the population of Leeds. Applications are welcome from all, irrespective of sex, sexuality, race, religion, marital status, age or disability. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
Additional allowances
Starting salary of £13,954 but where appropriate, we will offer pay point portability for experienced TAs already working at other schools.

We have a great mix of children, a strong and welcoming staff team and we have a very good reputation for the inclusion of children with special needs, including a number on the autistic spectrum. We have a supportive parent body and huge grounds to make creative use of. We had another very positive Ofsted inspection in March 2018.
