Teaching Assistant (SEND) job summary
Salisbury Road Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team. This is a brilliant opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality education and targeted intervention for our pupils - particularly those with SEND.
The successful candidate will be committed to supporting pupil’s learning and to help pupils surpass their expectations.
Salisbury Road Primary School are seeking candidates that will go the extra mile for our children and the community.
As a valued member of our staff, you will:
- Support the delivery of targeted interventions and tailored provision for pupils requiring additional support.
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver and adapt planned learning activities, ensuring the needs of all learners are met.
- Help to maintain a supportive, organised and inclusive classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families, promoting our school values and ethos every day.
- Support the pastoral and academic progress of pupils, monitoring their attainment and feeding back to the class teacher.
- Contribute to the life of the classroom through engaging displays, resource preparation, and proactive support with behaviour and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children, ideally in a primary or SEND setting.
- Is compassionate, patient and proactive, with a relational approach to behaviour and learning.
- Is confident supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with adults and children.
- Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting the wellbeing of every child.

Salisbury Road is two form entry primary school that serves the locality of St Judes, near the city centre. We are situated in a large, three-storey, Victorian building in the heart of the community, and work closely with many local partners. We pride ourselves on being a warm and friendly school and aim to enhance and inspire the lives of not only the children that attend our school but their families and wider community.
