Gawsworth Primary School

Gawsworth Primary School is a small, close-knit village school where we place a strong emphasis on knowing every child as an individual. We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant (Grade 4) to join our team from September 2026. This is a part-time, term-time only role, supporting pupils with additional needs within a Key Stage 1 cohort.

The Role

This is a hands-on role requiring the successful candidate to:

  • Support pupils with additional needs to access learning activities

  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver targeted support

  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs

  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Provide both one-to-one and small group support

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children with additional needs (desirable but not essential)

  • Is calm, patient and able to build positive relationships with pupils

  • Can work effectively as part of a team

  • Is proactive and able to respond to the changing needs of pupils

Relevant experience in education, childcare or care settings would be welcomed. A full induction and ongoing training will be provided.

Gawsworth Primary School is part of the Halliard Trust, a multi-academy trust of eleven schools based in Cheshire. The Trust offers opportunities for collaboration, peer support and professional development.
